International IWEC Award 2023

Pia Cittadini, President of Cittadini spa, was awarded the 2023 International IWEC Award by the IWEC Foundation of New York.

The award ceremony took place on Wednesday 7^th November in the context of the annual IWEC Foundation Convention, organized this year in Turin by the Chamber of Commerce, with the theme "Connecting women-owned businesses globally: building sustainability, inclusion and resilience".

IWEC Foundation is an association founded in 2007, to create networking among high-profile women-led companies, to develop a global business network for women entrepreneurs, helping them to expand into international markets. The IWEC Award, established within the IWEC Foundation, is a coveted recognition for female entrepreneurs who have achieved successful goals in their companies, demonstrating the ability to develop entrepreneurial skills, leadership, moral values, inclusive and gender equality policies, objectives of sustainable development.

At the Turin Convention there were entrepreneurs from all over the world who had been awarded in previous editions (Peru, South Africa, Mongolia, Spain, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Asia, Pakistan, Serbia, Turkey, India and various others) and those selected for this this year, among them is the Brescian entrepreneur Pia Cittadini per l'Italia.
Her candidacy was presented by Regional Equality Councilor Anna Maria Gandolfi.

“It was a great honor to receive this prestigious award, which I dedicate to my husband Giovanni, with whom I have shared my whole life with love, including over 50 years in the company, and to my sons Cesare, Paola, Marco and Lorenzo who today, in a happy generational transition, they all work in the company". These are Pia's words when she received the award.

Her daughter Paola Cittadini, who proudly accompanied her mother during the three days in Turin, from 5 to 7 November, had the great opportunity to develop friendships and new business opportunities.

Pia Cittadini has been recognized for the great commitment in over fifty years of activity in the family business alongside her husband Giovanni, the constant contribution to the enhancement of women’s work and the reconciliation of family/work, inclusive policy in the company, the values of his "Philosophy of the Net", also applied in solidarity initiatives both in Italy and abroad.

From Piedmont, Pia graduated from Cattolica in Milan with a thesis in Labour Law "Equal pay for men and women", developing the theme of women’s work and human and social values, which will characterize her entire business activity.
